Short answer

Yes. Secure It Password Manager is a one-time purchase of US$4.99 (local prices vary by country on Google Play) with no subscription, and one purchase covers Android, the Windows app and the Chrome extension. Secure It is a zero-knowledge password manager that stores your encrypted vault in your own Google Drive: no company servers, not even ours.

That is also why there is nothing to subscribe to. We don't run a sync service, so we have no monthly server bill to pass on to you.

Timing note: the Android app is in closed testing on Google Play and can't be bought yet. This page describes how the pricing will work, not a buy button. We'll update it when the app goes live. Check downloads for what is live today.

What one payment gets you

  • One purchase: a one-time purchase of US$4.99 on Google Play. Play shows local prices in other countries, so what you see may differ.
  • Windows app: free on the Microsoft Store, unlocked by the Google Play purchase.
  • Chrome extension: free on the Chrome Web Store, unlocked by the Google Play purchase. It also installs in Brave and Opera. The Edge listing is in review; until it's live, Edge users can install from the Chrome Web Store.
  • Encryption on your device: Argon2id key derivation and AES-256-GCM, with a 12-word recovery phrase.
  • 12 languages.
  • No subscription, and no sale or discount is running.

See pricing and the facts page for the current status of each platform.

What a one-time price doesn't cover

We'd rather you know the limits before paying:

  • No independent security audit yet. The cryptography is done on your device, but no third party has audited it. Details are on the security page.
  • Sync needs a Google account. The encrypted vault file sits in your Google Drive.
  • No iOS app.
  • Android is in closed testing, so the purchase that unlocks everything else isn't available yet.
  • We're a small, independent developer, not a large security company.

Three terms, defined

  • Subscription: you pay every month or year. If you stop paying, you usually lose paid features, and sometimes access to new features or support.
  • One-time purchase: you pay once for the app. Whether future major versions, other platforms or sync are included depends on the seller. Read the terms.
  • Lifetime licence: a one-time payment that the seller promises to honour for the "lifetime" of the product or your account. It is only as durable as the company behind it.

Why subscriptions are the norm

Most password managers sync your vault through the company's own servers. Running those servers, plus support and security staff, costs money every month, so a recurring fee is the obvious way to pay for it. That is a reasonable model, and for many people it is the right one.

A one-time price works best when the app doesn't depend on servers the seller has to keep running. That is the idea behind KeePass-style apps, where the vault is a file you store yourself, and behind Secure It, where the optional sync file lives in your own Google Drive.

How the options compare

Prices below were checked on the vendors' own pages on 15 Oct 2026. They change, so confirm before you buy.

Manager Cost model Price (15 Oct 2026) Notes
Secure It Password Manager One-time purchase US$4.99 on Google Play (not yet buyable: Android is in closed testing) Android, Windows app and Chrome extension from one purchase. Vault in your own Google Drive.
KeePass Free, open source $0 A single encrypted database file. Syncing it between devices is up to you.
KeePassXC Free, open source (GPLv3) $0 Desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Bitwarden Free Free plan $0 Unlimited passwords and devices, sharing with one other user. Hosted sync.
Bitwarden Premium Subscription $19.80 per year Adds an authenticator, file attachments, emergency access and security reports.
1Password Individual Subscription $2.99 per month, billed yearly (promotional first-year price, regular $3.99) 14-day free trial. The promotional price is for new customers who subscribe on 1Password.com.

Free tools can cost you time instead of money. KeePass has no built-in sync, so you set that up yourself. Secure It aims to be the simpler route to the same idea: a vault you hold yourself, without assembling a sync plugin.

What "lifetime" and "one-time" really include

Before you pay once, check five things:

  1. Which devices? One platform, or every platform? Some apps sell desktop and mobile licences separately.
  2. Is sync included? If sync runs on the seller's servers, ask what happens to it if the company closes or changes its terms.
  3. Do updates continue? Some licences cover one major version only.
  4. How long is support promised? "Lifetime" rarely comes with a written support period.
  5. What happens if the company disappears? A vault in an open or documented format, or a file you hold yourself, can be exported. A vault that exists only on a vendor's server is harder to rescue.

Always export-test a manager before you commit: make sure you can get your data out in a standard format.

Secure It may be a fit if…

  • You're tired of recurring fees and use Android and Windows.
  • You like the idea of your encrypted vault living in your own Google Drive rather than on a vendor's servers.
  • You want KeePass-style ownership of your vault file without managing the sync yourself.

A subscription or free hosted manager may suit you better if…

  • You need iOS, or a family or team plan with shared vaults and admin controls.
  • You want a formal audit and a company with a support team behind it.
  • You don't want a Google account involved in syncing.
  • You want a free plan with hosted sync and don't mind the vendor holding your encrypted vault.
